Will We Live Longer in the Future?

What is the secret to a long life?
This is a mystery that has haunted us back to our origin. What we do know is that as modern technology progresses our odds of living longer increase as well. But how far will this actually take us?
According to this article, you’ll have a better chance to live longer with better genes. And just maybe, eating a Mediterranean diet might be helpful as well.
The truth is we really don’t know the secret to “eternal youth” or if someone knows, they aren’t sharing. We have a lot of studies behind us about what foods we should eat or avoid but it seems this list shifts back and forth over the years. I would really like to think that by now we would have figured this all out.
Medical procedures have certainly improved. We can do minimally invasive surgeries with greater chances of recovery. We have robotic options for enhanced precision. Overall, our chances of surviving some of the ravages of age are much higher than they were years back. And there’s no reason to believe they won’t continue to improve in the future.
I’m thinking soon we’ll be able to replace failing organs with lab grown alternatives, heal terrible diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s, and learn what daily foods and exercises improve our chances of longevity.
Will it be in my lifetime where my expectancy will double? I don’t know, but I am certain we are very close.
