Underground Water Waits Amongst the Rocks

Paint by Particle

400 miles down we have rocks that hold onto water like sponges.

I found this article fascinating! Take a look for yourself and learn more about this.

So much of our attention focuses on what is beyond our planet, but we still have not mastered understanding what lies below our very feet. As technology advances the discoveries continue. We take our planet for granted as much as our sun, believing each morning that both will still be there when we step out of bed.

And well we should, otherwise anxiety might drive most of us insane.

But it helps to be reminded from time to time how little we still know of the lower layers, and hope that the latest news brings us closer to understanding.

With all of this water available far beneath the Earth’s surface can we offset drought and encourage agriculture in arid regions, potentially growing enough food to reduce or eliminate starvation?

Or would tapping into these reserves create instability that causes more problems than it solves?

Do you think we should use these underground treasure troves of water or just let them be? Comment below!
